Introducing SCOPE STUDENT ASSISTANT: KAVYA KUMAR

 

Kavya Kumar, SCOPE Student Assistant (UW)

Kavya Kumar is the new SCOPE Student Assistant, contributing through program operations, communications, and event coordination. She is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health - Global Health, with interests in health systems, global health equity, and community-based interventions. Kavya recently joined SCOPE and will be supporting day-to-day program operations. She also contributes to SCOPE’s communication efforts by maintaining the SCOPE website, creating and distributing the e-newsletter, and developing social media content. Additionally, Kavya helps plan virtual and in-person special events, working with the Managing Director and the Events Committee to support logistics and planning.

Alongside her work with SCOPE, Kavya is currently an Undergraduate Research Intern at the Institute for Systems Biology, where she is gaining research experience in immunology. Through her academic experiences, she is motivated by SCOPE’s focus on global health, mental health, and strengthening community-driven health systems.
