Belayneh Jejaw Abate | University of Gondar
Belayneh Jejaw Abate from the University of Gondar is an epidemiologist and public health researcher with extensive experience in maternal and child health, spatial epidemiology, and quantitative public health research. He earned his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Gondar and has over five years of experience in infection prevention, hospital-based public health practice, and emergency response. Throughout his career, he has contributed to national infection prevention and control initiatives and has trained more than 200 healthcare professionals.
Belayneh’s work centers on using data-driven approaches to improve health outcomes in low-resource settings. His expertise includes spatial epidemiology, multilevel modeling, survival analysis, meta-analysis, and machine learning. He has contributed to more than 50 scientific manuscripts, including several peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, and has led over 13 studies as Principal Investigator. His research interests include maternal and child health, mental health, and health equity, with a strong commitment to translating research into actionable public health solutions.
