Mary lampe, phd
Mary Lampe was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia and has an abiding interest in the country since her time there. She taught at the Public Health College in Gondar and did research and training at the Ethio-Swedish Pediatric clinic. Mary earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and then joined the faculty at the University of Washington in the Departments of Medicine and Laboratory Medicine. Mary has retired from the UW and joined the SCOPE board after traveling to Ethiopia on a SCOPE vision trip. Mary strongly supports the innovative SCOPE efforts in improving health access for women and children through the collaborations of faith, medical, and educational partners.
