The Leading Advancements in the Uptake of Newborn Community Health (LAUNCH) projects are moving ahead with data analysis. Earlier this month, Dieudonne Hakizimana (UW) and Dr. Adane Niguise (University of Gondar) met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to continue data analysis on the LAUNCH Implementation Science (IS) project. The LAUNCH-IS project will assess and promote the expansion of the SCOPE of the SCOPE model of community engagement, where orthodox priests partner with healthcare workers to be health advocates.

A key component of LAUNCH-IS is qualitative data from stakeholders, including health officials from local, regional, and national offices. Dr. Adane and Dieudonne used their time in Addis to advance their analysis and meet with a key representative from the Ministry of Health, Dr. Netsanet.
Look for a final report on both the LAUNCH clinical trial and the LAUNCH-IS projects later this year.
