Gifti is a first year WWAMI medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Spokane, WA. She is particularly interested in international medicine and has goals of serving in Ethiopia, where her family is from. She is drawn to SCOPE due to its work in harnessing the local strengths of the Ethiopian community to improve access to healthcare services. She begins her fellowship in June 2018.
