SCOPE partners with medical and faith communities to improve health in Ethiopia through outreach, education, and training.

Laila Zomorodian, SCOPE’s newest fellow, had an eventful first month! She visited the Diocese of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and successfully completed SCOPE’s priest-training program for the Woleka and Azezo clinic sites. Twenty-eight priests and religious women participated in the training and will begin their outreach work in Gondar to educate women about health and refer them to neighborhood clinics!

Dagnew, the Director of the Woleka clinic, told Laila: “We need SCOPE. Please continue this project!”  We will be hearing more from Laila as she continues her work with community leaders collaborating to improve the lives of women and families in Gondar, Ethiopia.
