Miho Sato is a global health professional from Japan. Prior to coming to the UW, Miho worked for a US-based non-profit, Management Sciences for Health. From 2002 to 2006, Miho was baseåd in Afghanistan where she worked with Afghan colleagues to rebuild the country’s health system. Prior to being awarded the SCOPE fellowship, Miho conducted MPH thesis research in Mekelle City, Ethiopia interviewing patients who have been taking antiretroviral therapy in order to identify facilitators and barriers for the treatment from their point of view. Miho was the first fellow for the SCOPE. Her tasks included explaining the goals of the SCOPE fellowship and building partnerships with local collaborative organizations, identifying an Ethiopian SCOPE fellow, exploring potential areas of activities for the SCOPE project, and helping the team design the big SCOPE picture.

Miho is currently a professor at the Center for International Collaborative Research, Nagasaki University.
