Adino Tesfahun

Adino Tesfahun Tsegaye completed his PhD at the University of Washington Department of Epidemiology in 2023. Adino received his BS and MPH degrees in Public Health from the University of Gondar. He then worked as a clinician in a rural health center and at the University of Gondar Specialized Hospital. Before moving to Seattle, Adino was an assistant professor at the University of Gondar, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. His prior research focuses on maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and nutrition. He has managed several community-based projects addressing the healthcare needs of underserved communities. His scholarship focuses on understanding the utilization of cervical cancer preventative services among East African Immigrants in Washington State. He works as a research scientist in the Department of Global Health. He is a former SCOPE Fellow and project manager of the SCOPE/FLAME project. Adino is passionate about improving the health of vulnerable women and children.
